BOTOX® Cosmetic in Gig Harbor

Every injection performed by Dr. Melissa Larsen, a board-certified plastic surgeon.

WHO INJECTS YOU MATTERS

At many practices offering BOTOX® Cosmetic, the person holding the syringe is not the physician.

At NordHavn, every injection is performed by Dr. Melissa Larsen, a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Facial anatomy is her training — she operates on these muscles. That background informs where each unit is placed and how conservatively a first-time patient is dosed.

WHAT BOTOX® COSMETIC TREATS

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription injectable that temporarily reduces the activity of specific facial muscles. It is commonly used for:

- Horizontal forehead lines

- Frown lines between the brows (the "11s")

- Crow's feet at the outer corners of the eyes

It addresses lines created by muscle movement. Lines caused by volume loss are treated differently — see [dermal fillers]. At your consultation Dr. Larsen will tell you which applies to your face, and will say so if neither does.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Consultation — Dr. Larsen reviews your goals, your facial movement and your medical history.

Treatment — injections take roughly 10 to 15 minutes. Most patients return to normal activity the same day.

Results — develop gradually over several days rather than immediately.

Duration — results are temporary. Dr. Larsen will discuss expected duration and a maintenance interval based on your treatment.
