Dr. Melissa Larsen
Philosophy
Dr. Larsen's philosophy is centered on enhancing the natural beauty a patient already has. She works closely with each person to understand their goals and builds a plan around them, taking the time to answer questions so that every decision feels informed rather than rushed. Patients describe her as warm and approachable, and she has built NordHavn to feel the same way — a calm, welcoming environment where people feel comfortable and genuinely cared for. What she values most is seeing a patient leave feeling confident and empowered.

Education and Training
Dr. Melissa Larsen completed a six-year integrated residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University — one of the most competitive training pathways in American medicine, encompassing microsurgery and free flap reconstruction, craniofacial trauma, hand surgery, burn and wound care, breast reconstruction, and aesthetic surgery. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.
Her research on outcomes of titanium mesh cranioplasty in pediatric patients was published in the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, and she has presented at Plastic Surgery The Meeting, the national conference of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Following residency she practiced in Bellingham, Washington, and then at Kaiser Permanente in Tacoma, where her practice spanned reconstructive and aesthetic surgery with a particular concentration in breast surgery. She founded NordHavn Plastic Surgery in Gig Harbor in 2025.
