Camping PNW
One of the best things about living in the PNW is being surrounded by so much natural beauty. With having young kids I find one of the best ways to explore the PNW is camping. Our kids are finally old enough that we don't have to hover to prevent them from falling or tripping, AND they (mostly) sleep through the night, so camping has become one of our favorite family activities. There is nothing better than getting cosy in the tent together after a day of exploring and adventuring. I love cooking a great meal out in the open, and of course the kids love a s'more (or two). Being English (and let's be honest, a little snobby about chocolate) we make our fancy s'mores with chocolate covered Hobnobs (look them up, you won't be disappointed).
Recently we took a trip up to Port Townsend and Sequim, and had a blast playing on the beaches, hunting for shells and crabs, climbing lighthouses, picking lavender, and having a good family time. The kids didn't even ask for screens once. If that's not a win, I don't know what is.
The best thing about camping for me is that there are so many options so close to home, and so I am never too far away from my patients! :)
A deer wandered through our campsite!
